Getting Started with Traffic Exchanges
Getting Started with Traffic Exchanges
What
are Traffic Exchanges?
A traffic
exchange is
a type of website generally
used by small business owners or marketers who either want free
advertising or to use the exchange programs for low-budget
advertisement campaigns.
Almost all traffic exchange
programs are free, although many of them offer special features and
credits to purchase to upgraded or paid members. Almost all of them
encourage members to build their own referral networks which helps
build your Marketing List and also can increase your number of
credits to use in the exchange.
We will
start with ONE Traffic Exchange, so that you can learn how to use a
Traffic Exchange without a lot of confusion from skipping around into
several Traffic Exchanges to begin with. For our example we are
going to demonstrate with
Bharat
Surf Traffic Exchange. (You can click here to follow
the instructions below and join Bharat Surf: BHARAT
SURF.
When you clicked you should have opened to a page like
this:
Fill
Out the Sign Up Form.
Bharat
Surf Sign Up form asks you to enter your Main Website when you join.
Not every traffic exchange asks for this information, but when they
do, since GDI Team Elite is your Main business online you may enter
your Website Title (example: GDI Team Elite – Ravindra) and then
for website url enter YOUR TEAM LINK
(example:
Here is
a picture of the Sign Up Form for Bharat Surf:
The first red arrow shows that Bharat Surf wants you to choose your user name first. A user name is a special IDENTIFIER so Bharat Surf can identify your account easily. Many sites also put the user name in your referral link. So be sure and choose carefully.
I like
to train my members to BRAND themselves, so no matter what they are
promoting people will recognize YOU as their sponsor. For instance
I use gerryjames111 so people will recognize me by personal name or
sometimes I use supernaturalprosperity or supernaturalpro so people
recognize me by one of my business names: Supernatural Prosperity.
Since
you are just starting out I suggest you use something like:
TeamElite-rbabu
or GerryJamesTeam-Ravindra This way people will begin to
recognize you and associate you with the GerryJamesGDITeamElite.
Of
course these are just suggestions. Pick something you like.
The
second red arrow highlights information that not all Traffic Exchanges
ask for when you sign up. Most let you add your websites once you
are a member... but a few will ask for your main website on the sign
up form.
Your
Main Website promotion will be your GDI Team Link. So in this
section put in GDI Team Elite – YOUR NAME (example: GDI Team
Elite – Ravindra) and for the url put your GDI Team Link url.
Below
is a sample of the Bharat Surf sign up form I completed for myself:
Once
you have completed filling in all your information, be sure to select
I agree with the Terms of Service and then click Register Me! Button.
Next,
you will need to confirm your email is correct and that it was you
who requested to join.
When
you click on the Register Me! Button you will see a message like
this:
(except
it will show YOUR EMAIL, instead of mine)
To confirm, you will need to go log in to your Email account and find the email from Bharat Surf. It will look like this:
If
you do not see the link in your IN BOX, check your SPAM folder.
Click
on the Activation Email and it will open to a page like this:
Once
you click the Activation Link as shown above you will see a page like
this:
It
will tell you that your email has been verified. CLICK where they
indicate to go to the LOG IN page.
Your third step is to LOG IN to your Traffic Exchange:
A)
Fill in your user name OR email address
B)
Fill in your password
C)
Do NOT click on Start Surfing
D)
Click the Login to BharatSurf button
The
next thing you will usually see are OFFERS from the Traffic Exchange
owners:
These
are special offers where the Traffic Exchange owner offers discounted
rates if you will go ahead and pay for a Lifetime, a Yearly or a
Monthly upgrade.
Since
you are just beginning I
suggest you “SKIP” these offers and stay with FREE advertising
for now.
You will have plenty of time once you have more experience to take
advantage of upgrades so they benefit you.
To
SKIP the “offers” simply scroll to the bottom and find lines like
these:
Click
on “I Just Can't Right Now” OR “Click here to go to the
Members Area”.
You
may need to do this for several offers. Just keep SKIPPING until you
reach your MEMBERS AREA.
You
will know you are at the members area when you see a page with a Menu
on the left or Tabs across the top like this:
On your Home Members page sometimes you will find important information like this:
You
can see that on Bharat Surf before your account is completely
activated you will need to view (also called surf) 25 pages.
Before
we do that I want to be sure that you SAVE YOUR INFORMATION so you
can log in easily every day.
Either
offline on a sheet of paper or in a special notebook you can write
your details down to refer to later or you can start a special
Traffic Folder on your desktop and start a document where you put
down your Traffic Exchange details to reference whenever you need to.
You
will want to put:
The
Name of the Traffic Exchange you joined: BharatSurf
The
date you joined: Friday Nov 28, 2014
The
Email you used to sign up: your email
The
user name you chose: __________________
The
password you chose: __________________
Your
referral url so you can get others to join Bharat under you:
http://
Here
is how to find your BharatSurf referral url:
Go
to the tabs along the top of your Members Area and Click on the tab
labeled Affiliate.
Click on it and you'll see a drop-down menu. Click on the first
item: Promote Bharat Surf. The Promo Tools Page will open and you
will find YOUR
link
that you can share with others to sign up as your referrals. This
will begin to help you build a list and may earn you some extra free
credits. Copy this url from YOUR promo page and make sure you put it
on your account details sheet.
NOW
