The ASK GERRY column was created to originally run on Wednesday's; however, we didn't have many questions when it started, so it was sort of let slide. Then we started building the Power of 10 system and a lot of stuff slid...

The result is that we have many new members since March that haven't received the kind of training and attention most of the veteran members once knew. And they have questions. Good questions. 

Now, the Power of 10 system is working in a very low key way, we're finishing up, getting ready to crank it up. In order to do that successfully, everyone needs to be prepared.

For today, Monday, I'm going to begin to address your questions and concerns in a week long ASK GERRY series.  If  there is something I don't cover – just ask in a comment below.  That's what we're here for.

FIRST: THE QUESTIONS

Fernando joined us June 19th this year. He is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is on Team Gerry James, with Tarcisio Santos de Salles as his Sponsor. 1- When was the Power of 10 Team created?

4- What’s behind the name? (I think that this “10” hides something special to be revealed , am I right?)

HISTORY Of Our TEAM


My name is Gerry James. I joined GDI Team Elite in July, of 2014, and in September of 2014, became Team Leader of Team Power Elite. During March, April & May of 2015, I built a funnel and website that will help members move FASTER in their growth adding 5 to 10 members at a time, while earning cash GDI Bonuses.

So our program is 3 part - we have (1) GDI BASIC for those who are NEW, those who might have been here before but never KNEW what to do. (2) GDI Intermediate for those who understand the BASICS and move through that pretty quickly then realize just knowing some technique isn't enough. What are you supposed to be DOING with it? And (3) GDI POWER of 10 – where it gets FAST TRACKED, exciting, with Leaderboards where you compete with GDI members everywhere and begin to explode your income.

You'll enter a Module, complete it's Lesson(s) and then you'll take a QUIZ to test your knowledge and check out certain benchmarks. Pass the QUIZ and you get the password to the next module. Fail the QUIZ – your Team Leaders will go to work with you to find out what you need to know to pass.

This what I do:
1. Gmail will allow you to only send 500 emails a day.
2. So I send 1 email every day to 450 people…
3. Set up a 2nd gmail account to use just for your email campaign…
4. Open your leads excel spreadsheet, highlight the first 450 email addresses.
5. Go to gmail, hit compose.
6. Paste your 450 addresses into the bcc field. (Blind Copy !)
7. Save the email in your draft folder.
8. Now copy your email ad for GDI Team Elite, making sure there is a spam clause at the bottom into the body of your draft !
9. I have plenty of sample ads you can use.
10. Put your email address in the to: and cc: fields, and Send.  That will send your email out to everyone, and they will not see the other 449 email addresses.
11. That is it…..

Hi Larry, and welcome to  ASK GERRY!   You've posed some great questions.  I know from scanning my correspondence and talking with Gabriela that others here - are a little "asea" about the same.  

First:  YES!  We are still going to have Power of 10 classes.  In fact, I finished our Sales Funnel over the weekend in time for our official Launch June 1st and I am working on a communication about it to the entire Team which will hit your mailbox soon.  It will show you what I've been building for all of you and how it can help you promote, grow AND earn.

Why 6 different ads on this one url?  And why to the BASIC GDI program?
Great questions.   
To #1:  The spread of 6 ads appeals to different segments of your viewers across a range of TE's and Mailers.   So you broaden your attraction.
For #2:  This perplexes many of our members.  None of these pages, nor the autoresponder they direct an interested prospect to, mentions the Power of 10, a free 37 day trial, or any of that -- so why waste your advertising time?   Because it is not a waste.  The GDI Basic program still has an appeal - ESPECIALLY for "new" GDI prospects who are also beginning network marketers.  This is the basic program in a nutshell ...  we assure that we will support, we recruit for them, and the gditeamelite autoresponder is very informative about the basic GDI program.  It is from this "pool" of subscribers that we try to close the sale and assign to our members who need a Direct sign up for bonus programs like the Learning Bonus and Team Bonus.  With a basic GDI member our people also learn how to Sponsor well.  I guide you in taking a complete newbie and learning how to guide them to success.  The GDI Team link also fills a very special TEAM RESPONSIBILITY and that is to TAKE CARE OF ALL OUR MEMBERS, the weakest as well as the strongest.   Many people come in and they don't know how to promote.  We'll teach them that, but it's no fun to feel like you are working as hard as everyone else, but you are getting no sign ups.  The Team Link helps us take care of that:    When someone subscribes to the GDI Team Link I don't have any way of knowing which Team Member attracted that subscriber.  I don't know whose link the sign up came from.  So as Team Leader I ask that everyone gets a minimum of 1000 hits per week on this link.  THIS IS THE ONLY LINK I REQUIRE A MINIMUM HIT COUNT for.  That count tells me who knows how to promote, who is struggling.  It tells me who is serious and who is -- not so much.  If someone is turning in 24 hits a week and is not asking me or their sponsor for help, they are NOT SERIOUS.  This is a hobby.  A wish.  I will go to them and offer training, but I have already noted that they are not motivated and don't care.  If I can't turn that around with them - eventually I will ask them to leave our team. We are a serious group here out to earn.  Hobbyists can't help us and we can't help them. But if they're trying and asking for help and showing improvement - I'll make sure they get more than they ever dreamed of in support and training.  So I use the Hit Count as a barometer of sorts.   All those above 1000 hits (and preferably more) have the best shot at attracting subscribers.  Based on the Hit Count I award Team sign ups.  Not only from this promotion but across the board.  Workers will be rewarded, newbies will be supported and get the additional help they need.  Since the GDI Team Link is a team effort, it disturbs me a lot when any of our people ignore it.   It's understandable to want to expend your efforts on a link that will definitely bring sign ups to YOU, but network marketing is a tough business to make it in.  It takes a Team and being a good Team Player will do more for you in the long run than focusing solely on your own bottom line.

Please promote the Tracker Link and not the direct rotator link.  I do not check the rotator for counts because I use it for all time hits on this link and do not reset it, so to filter out what your numbers were for the past week is too much trouble for me when I can just pick them up daily from the tracker link. 

Your Power of 10 Team Link is:  


All of these pages except the first one (which leads to your personal Power of 10 Affiliate page and any of those subscribers are assigned to you, no ifs, ands, or buts) lead to a generic Power of 10 sign up page (http://powerof10.net), which allows us to assign the member to any Sponsor who is currently going for the $100 sign up bonus * (more on that soon in your training).  So again, it is more of a Team Player link to help out your mates.  Let's say that you had just gone for a bonus and were waiting for your cash out before going for it again ...  you might want to temporarily change your advetising strategy for a week or two to promoting the Team Power of 10 Link more heavily than your Affiliate Power of 10 link because you don't want to have a bunch of people filling up a class for you again right away (in Power of 10 you sign up 10 people at a time for group class training and bonus) and just having them wait for you.   But you can be putting subscribers in the pipeline for random assignment.  When you're ready to go again, you can even ask me for members from the Random Waiting lists to fill up your next class!

Please promote the Tracker Link and not the direct rotator link.


Your Power of 10 AFFILIATE Link is:

personal Power of 10 Referrals Capture Page:  

From this page your subscribers NAME YOU AS THEIR REFERRER and the sign up will not go to anyone else unless your subscriber does not put your name in which is rare.  Even if they don't put your name in, when you are forming a class of 10 you will likely still get the referral to fill out your class.

So there you have it.  This should help you to make some decisions about where to focus your advertising efforts.   Some prefer a pretty even split ... 33% GDI Team Link, 33% Po10 Team Link and 34% Po10 Affiliate Link.

The 3 Sponsors currently forming Classes may prefer a  10% GDI Team Link, 15% Po10 Team Link, and 75% Po10 Affiliate Page Link split.   I have even seen some going for 100% Po10 Affiliate Page Link - but I would only recommend that to a Sponsor who is definitely planning to put together their own Class of 1o -- and soon.   How do you get to be a Sponsor who is forming a Class of 10?   

Stay tuned to my mails which will start coming to you guys daily now.  I have the Funnel finished and the Website 75% so I am able to come out from my cave and will be communicating and training regularly again.

Gabriela, your Team Leader and your Sponsor Bob and others have done a mind-boggling job of keeping the team running while I did in 2 months what generally would take most professional marketers the better part of a year to build.   That's not bragging ... I just knew I had to get it put together for this team.  But Gabriela is falling behind now trying to keep up with her duties and mine,  and everyone else is raring to get Power of 10 on out of the gate...  so  he-eeeeeeeeee's baaaaaaaack.  You may all wish I'd stayed in the cave, but I'll make you love me!  hahahahaha

I can't wait to share it all with all of you.  Not only will you have your GDI back office -  you will have your own Power of 10 Backoffice with your own User ID and PW.    You will have Training Modules -- not only to go through yourself, but to send your Downline through to train them without taking up time you could better spend at your hobbies.   Oh and these Training Modules will be 'locked'.  There will be a quiz at the end of each one and in order to "earn" your way into the next module - you and/or your downline must pass the quiz showing you really know the material before you get the passcode into the next module.  There is BASIC, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED Training.    

And what about those people who come through that don't sign up with you? We don't stop trying.  We've taken care of that, too - you'l learn how when I begin sending out the Team Communications tomorrow.

So ...  YES!  Larry you are going to be growing AND earning better than you've even dreamed.  I'm a pro-active leader and sitting waiting on sign ups in a year long "rotator" system like Team Atlantis or even a 6 month to 1 year one like basic GDI Team Elite is not my idea of leading.  I knew we need to do better for you.   So I created the Power of 10.  For Launch yesterday, we officially became Powerof10.net.  (Don't worry - your links still work)  Powerof10.net is your key to GDI, and other streams of income, success. MEET JACK HARTWELL

TeamMember Jack Hartwell joined our Team Power Elite Feb 8, 2015, under Team Sponsor Devona Bell.

He's originally from Princeton, WV, but the family relocated to Florida.  He is married to his sweetheart, Wendy, whom he met in Orlando, FL ... 47 years this year!  BRAVO!!!!  Today they reside in Christmas, Florida.

We want to thank and salute Jackie for service in the Armed Forces where he served us in Korea and after an honorable discharge became an inside salesman for semi tractor trailer parts.  Talk about a skill he can use in this business!

Jackie came into Team Power Elite after 10 years of learning the ropes of online marketing, but not really finding that success he knew was possible.  I'm sure you've noticed his "hits" ... Jackie is almost always toward the top of the hit list ...  but this past week HE TOPPED THE HITS LEADERBOARD!  He credits his Team Leader, Gabriela and his Team Sponsor Devona,
 and has sent me glowing reports on both of them.

If you're struggling getting your hits - this is definitely one member you should look to as a mentor.   My own mentor always told me ... if you want to do something, find someone else who has already succeeded at it and learn from them.   From his tenacity, his willingness to do what it takes, and his belief in himself and his team, Jackie is one awesome member we should all be learning from.

His question this week came from something he noticed on the Daily Hits email.  Most smart people are curious people and I thought maybe Jackie's question was something many of you have wondered about, too.  He was just the first to ask:

"Why is my own name not seen in the Team Daily Hits as a recipient?"





GERRY ANSWERS

Your name does appear in the recipient list ... to other people.   Gmail doesn't show it on yours because the mail came to you.   But on other recipients mails, they see all names, including yours, excluding theirs.  Gmail wants you to be aware that the same mail went to others and shows you who they are.  

A sender can blind copy, so that other's names and mails are protected.  I don't "blind copy" (so that no one would see any names) because we are a Team and  I want all of you to know who's on the team so you can become friends and support one another.  You could click on any one of your teammate's names and say hello, or ask a question ... and they would know exactly who you are because they see your name every day on their team mails.

Mystery solved!  Ta dahhhh!

What safelist would be the best to use when we advertise our GDI link?

This looks like such a simple question at face-value, but it's actually a question with as many answers as there are team members advertising their GDI businesses.   Because when you are out there presenting your business, what you are actually promoting is YOU.   No one buys GDI. They buy YOU.  The most potent marketing weapon you have in your arsenal, is actually you -- because unlike business opportunities, there is only one of you in the entire world.  You are going to be the biggest factor in a new member's success, because they can't get the mentoring from facts and figures they will need to succeed.  That mentoring will come from YOU.   When considering a Safelist, among the many factors you want to look for are ...   Do you like it?  Do you find it's members fit into the type of target audience you're looking for?  Is it easy to use?  Is the membership large?  How often does it allow you to mail?  Can you contact the entire membership or just downline you are building there?  If you're really into this, what is it's Alexa traffic ranking?  How long has it been around?  Is there buzz about it from other GDI marketers?  Have you contacted other members to ask what they are finding useful?   There are so many safelists to choose from!   Like dating, you may need to kiss a few frogs before you find some princes you'd like to hang out with!


What is a Safelist by the way?  A safelist is simply a list of people who have agreed to receive your advertising.  As the internet grew and evolved and people discovered "thar was gold in them thar gigabytes" some got, shall we say, overzealous?  Well, others got fed up!  They couldn't delete fast enough to clear out their emails to see if Mum had written, or if they'd won the PCH Sweepstakes!  The CAN-SPAM law was enacted and suddenly a marketer could get into some serious trouble if his email marketing was unsolicited and unwelcome.  So people who are part of the robust online marketplace, created "safe" places to exchange opportunities, products and ideas.

Which one is "best" for promoting GDI?   That answer will be different for different people.  It's personal.  I can only give you some general guidelines.  #1 - ask around to your team mates and especially check with your uplines in GDI Team Elite.  They're more experienced than you - ask them what they recommend, what seems most responsive in terms of finding the audience that wants to do what you do?   #2 - stay with reputable site lists, that have demonstrated good response and fair dealings. 

#3 - choose a variety.  This is extremely important.  Beginners think ... "I don't want to get overwhelmed.  I'll just concentrate on 1, 2 or 3 places. After all, I can only handle so much!"   Well, that's fine for a beginner, but if you are serious about running a business and earning even a livable part-time income online, you need to get your message out to as many people as possible!  Can you imagine how long Coca-Cola's advertising honchos would last if they sat down and beamed over their superbowl ad's success and stopped advertising anywhere else?   No billboards, no television, no print ads, nil, nada, zilch!   The Superbowl spots are great! It costs them millions to advertise there, but they do it, because they make much more than they spend.  It's hot, it's cool, it's a success.  But they can't stop there.  You'd soon forget Coca-Cola exists.  They would no longer be one of Warren Buffets top 4 investments.  Keep your advertising diverse and do as much of it as you can.  Your business thrives on advertising.  If your aim is to do as little as possible, you cannot complain when your "return" is as little as possible.

Fortunately, there are some popular companies that evaluate and RANK safelists for responsiveness, high traffic ease of use, popularity, and other criteria. It's been my experience that when I stray far from the "ranked" sites, my advertising effectiveness suffers.  


The Hoopla families of Ranking Sites should be your best friend when you're looking for good safelists to use.  Traffic Hoopla and List Hoopla have been two I have relied on.  

There is a NEW hot Hoopla just for ranking the BEST of the best safelists AND it helps you advertise to build your Traffic downlines.  It's called the DIRECTORY page and is closely associated with TE Hoopla, Traffic Hoopla, List Hoopla.  Why would you want to build Traffic downlines?  Oh I have so much to share with you.  We'll be covering some of this in Traffic School.  Keep coming to the Training page and your marketing is going to just keep getting better and better.

I highly recommend you contact your Sponsor now and ask them for their recommendations and sign up under them whenever possible.  This gives you someone who already is invested in your success to help you also with Traffic.  If your Sponsor is not responsive - please let me know.  I will step in and send you the links you need and mentor you to build your marketing success properly.

Many people feel that marketing by email is more effective than the Traffic Exchanges.  Actually I find that they are both good, but the more effective strategy is to keep a good balance of Safelists, Solo Ads, Traffic Exchanges, Banner & Text advertising, Top Banner ads, etc.  It's more important to be CONSISTENT,  keep your views (hits) as high as possible, and seek to brand yourself - people join PEOPLE not opportunities.

Have you ever wondered like Abundant Life (Gabriela)....

Q.  Is there any difference between Capture Page and Splash Page, or they're the same thing? 

You're right, Gabi, I've seen the terms Splash Page, Capture Page and even Landing Page & Sales Page all used interchangeably and it can be confusing to new online entrepreneurs.

We'll get into Landing/Sales pages later when we talk about setting up a marketing sales funnel.   

CAPTURE PAGES:  Right now most of your main duty for the team and yourself is promoting in order to get a prospect in contact with your team leader so they can close the deal for you.  This is done by advertising a "Capture Page" which literally "captures" the name & email of your prospect and delivers it into an automated email marketing system which is monitored by your Team Leader(s).   The capture will use either a webform (most common) or a special email link, that will also send a confirmation and get the prospect into your email marketing system for follow up.  The capture form has a box to enter the person's name and another box for them to put their email.  This box links this information back to a subscriber list in the autoresponder.   By function the Capture Page is not designed to give a lot of information.  Its job is to OFFER information in exchange for the prospect to give their name and email.  Therefore its copy must be very targeted...  bullet points of information designed to make the prospect want to know more.  To satisfy that curiosity, they must get on your list by completing the form.

SPLASH PAGES:  If the Capture Page is to online marketing what a contact form is to offline marketing,  then the Splash Page is akin to a pamphlet.  It must be short and more informative and less intimidating than a Capture Page.   Your offer has to be pretty compelling for someone to hand over their information for you to "follow up" with them beyond the quick view.   Capture Pages are usually as large as a regular Web Page.  People surfing Traffic Exchanges are not there primarily to see your offer.  They are trying to gain credits fast & furiously so that YOU will see THEIR offer. So the Traffic Exchanges cooperate by encouraging Splash Pages.  A good Splash Page will be able to be seen completely at a fast glance.  It should be simple, bold, attention-grabbing and both entertains & informs.  IT DOES NOT HAVE A CAPTURE FORM.  It doesn't try to write a book about the offer.  Like a pamphlet it covers the most important information in pleasing bytes, makes great use of images, keeps it simple and gives one clickable link and call to action.  It answers the question WHY you need this.
I love to see Splash Pages used to ATTRACT a prospect, show him his WHY for wanting to know more and then leads him to a Capture Page and possibly redirects him to the sign up page or to an OTO - (a One Time Offer) for a product that is compatible with the original offer.

So, Gabi, a SPLASH page let's you make a SPLASH - grab attention, inform more than a capture page does and has a simple non-intimidating CALL TO ACTION such as CLICK HERE NOW.     A CAPTURE page will allow you to follow up by putting the prospects name and email on a subscriber list somewhere (in an autoresponder or mailer) so you can "expose" them to your opportunity.  Statistics show that 80% of buyers will not make a decision to buy or sign up for the free trial until around the 12th contact. The CAPTURE page and SPLASH page can partner to give you a powerful "one-two" marketing punch.
